A new president has been announced for Lowestoft Rotary Club.

The club’s latest meeting saw the handover to the new Rotary team for 2018/2019, with incoming president Brian Hunter - the 81st holder of the office - receiving the chain of office from outgoing president Kenny Cantor.

Both are well-known locally for their commitment to serving the community, which embodies the spirit of Rotary.

In welcoming Mr Hunter to his new role, Mr Cantor spoke about the support to young people from Crucial Crew, where 1,200 Year 10 pupils from across Waveney receive training in how to avoid dangers in every day circumstances. This programme has been developed and run by Mr Hunter over the years.

Mr Hunter thanked Mr Cantor for his dedication to the club and particularly mentioned the way he has managed to provide entertainers to support the club and provide fundraising opportunities.
