HELPING HANDS: They have all come together to pledge their support to a local cancer charity.
And with the help of a number of businesses, the Lauren Lou charity are building on the buzz surrounding the European football championships as some new equipment has been sponsored just in time for the summer events season.
Alex Hepburn of A&A Footcare has his company logo emblazoned on the new pink football kit, and Kim Bennett Driving School have sponsored the balls and carry bag – which will be used in charity matches.
Players for the newly formed Lauren Lou team will each pay to complete against other sides in the area, with all proceeds going to Cancer Research.
In addition, Andrew Goldson Plumbing & Heating Services has sponsored a new football goal and Timpson have sponsored a number of trophies – which will be used at fetes and charity events.
Lauren-Lou in aid of Cancer Research UK already organises public street collections, collections at local supermarkets, table top sales, tombolas, car boot sales and music events.
Gary Bennett, founder of the charity, said: “We are eternally grateful to all the sponsors who have pulled together to make this happen.
“It touches the hearts of many people and we want to keep this moving forwards and upwards to raise loads of money for cancer research.”
Scott Butcher, branch colleague at Timpson added: “I think everybody has lost someone to cancer or knows somebody who has.
“Anything extra that we can do for Cancer Research is of great importance.”
