A staggering run continued as a popular park scooped yet another Green Flag award.
Nicholas Everitt Park, in Oulton Broad, is one of the record-breaking 1,883 UK parks and green spaces that has been recognised for the quality of its facilities.
This latest triumph marks the eighth consecutive year in which volunteers, including the Friends of Nicholas Everitt Park (FONEP), have been rewarded for their efforts.
The international gong, awarded by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy, is assigned to parks that are beautifully maintained, boast exceptional visitor facilities and possess high environmental standards.
Oulton Broad Parish Councillors and FONEP gathered this morning to celebrate the welcome news, alongside a visiting class from Westwood Primary School.
They also showed off panels from a mural depicting Lowestoft and Oulton Broad that has been made by The Ashley School. The mural will be displayed as a backdrop to the parents’ undercover seating in the park’s play area.
