The woman driver of a car which ploughed into a group of schoolchildren has been told she will not face charges over the incident.

The Lowestoft 41-year-old had been arrested and bailed by police, following the incident in September in which a group of pedestrians was injured as mourners arrived for a funeral in Worlingham. Pupils from Worlingham Middle School were among those hurt.

A police spokesman said: 'A 41-year-old woman who was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving following a road traffic collision in Lowestoft Road in Worlingham on Friday September 25, in which a man and a number of schoolchildren were injured, has been told she will face no further action.

'Following extensive enquiries into the cause of the collision, and consultation with the Crown Prosecution, medical reports on the 41-year-old mean police will take no further action against her.'
