No hatred of drivers

PUBLISHED: 09:53 28 May 2008 | UPDATED: 20:29 05 July 2010

IN response to Martin Fiddes (Postbox, May 16) I do not have a per se hatred of drivers as I am one myself.

I am opposed to unnecessary car use and take issue with those drivers who seem unable to grasp that they are not the only ones who matter on transport issues.

Acknowledging my error about the number of points and an automatic ban nothing Mr Fiddes stated in his letter causes me to change my mind.

If further evidence can be produced to cause me to change my mind I will be more than happy to acknowledge it. I do not consider I misinterpreted The Journal's report.
