Nominate your tourism winner

THERE is still time to enter your favourite establishment for the 2009 Sunrise Coast Tourism Awards.

The awards are organised by the Waveney Tourism Forum and are being supported by the Lowestoft Journal and Beccles and Bungay Journal.

This year the categories include Best Bed and Breakfast, Best Hotel, Best Holiday Park, Best Small Attraction (under 10,000 visitors a year), Best Large Attraction (more than 10,000 visitors a year) and new for 2009 Best Heritage Venue.

With entries continuing to arrive, the deadline for nominations has been set for Friday, November 6.

A judging panel made up of forum members and representatives of the two newspapers will have the difficult task of selecting the winning entries.

Nominations already received include those for Southwold Pier, Pontins Holiday Centre at Pakefield, Upstairs Gallery, Beccles, Mill House B&B, Oulton Broad, and the Beccles Tower information centre.

Tourism is one of the most successful industries in the Waveney area helping to attract more than four million visitors a year to the Sunrise Coast.

The winners in each category will be presented with their awards at the Sunrise Coast Tourism Conference on November 24.
