Thousands of Norfolk students were united today in celebration and commiseration as they found out their A-level results.

Thirteen years of hard work came to an end as students discovered whether they received the grades they were desperate for.

Although Norfolk's overall score will not be known until the end of the week, the majority of schools are already reporting a steady improvement on previous years.

Nationally, teenagers are believed to have scored record results for the 27th year in a row.
