Brides looking for inspiration and ideas for their big day should look no further than one of East Anglia's biggest wedding shows which will be held near Norwich this weekend.

Brides looking for inspiration and ideas for their big day should look no further than one of East Anglia's biggest wedding shows which will be held near Norwich this weekend.

The sixth Perfect Day Wedding Show will be taking place on Sunday, September 27, at Dunston Hall.

With more than 80 exhibitors spread over four rooms and a marquee, the show also gives brides-to-be and their families the chance to snap up some great offers and savings.

The last show, held on May 10, was bigger and busier than ever with 1,500 brides and 3,500 visitors, who made the most of having

lots of wedding companies under one roof.

A large selection of transport options will be on display outside the main entrance to the hall, including vintage cars, Jaguars, Lamborghinis and Ferraris, as well as a red double-decker bus for those who have several family and friends to transport from church to reception, and a helicopter for a real "wow" factor entrance.

Other services include bridalwear, men's formalwear, mother of the bride, tiaras, hat hire, florists, photographers and videographers, venues, marquee hire, beauty spas, cakes and chocolate fountains, jewellery, gift list services, and even a wedding planner, who can take the hassle away completely and arrange the whole day for you.

Gwen Bye, owner of Dreams bridal wear shop in Colindeep Lane, Sprowston, will be taking several bridal gowns, mother of the bride outfits and bridesmaid dresses to the show on Sunday.

She said: “A lot of girls at the moment are going for plain dresses without a lot of bling.

“We're also not selling so many really big gowns, and the trend seems to be for A-line and straps are also coming back in.

“I've just bought next year's dresses and the designers seem to be using a lot of black trims, or dresses that are partly black and partly ivory, which I think fits in well with more brides choosing to get married in the late afternoon or evening.

“There also seems to be a lot of pink dresses as well as silvery pewter ones.”

Entertainment and finishing touches will also be covered at the show, with wedding stationary and favour companies to DJs, bands and a Basil Fawlty impersonator.

The show will be taking place from 11am to 4pm.

The team which produces Archant's Perfect Day magazine is expanding with the introduction of a standalone magazine called BRIDE, out in January 2010.

There is also a new wedding exhibition planned for February 20-21 next year, to be held at the Royal Norfolk Showground.

Diana Sims, Archant wedding exhibition manager, said: “It's testament to the quality of the wedding industry in our region that we have been able to develop these new ideas and help make the stressful job of planning a wedding easier for local couples.”
