An array of tasty treats was on offer at a fundraiser for a charity helping children fight cancer.
Members of the community gathered at an annual cake sale and raffle for Ollie’s Heroes, founded by Oulton couple Jamie and Claire Gray after their son Ollie died in 2015 following a five-year battle with acute lymphatic leukaemia.
The charity’s primary function is to help children battling cancer and their families with the costs of living and travelling to hospital.
This year’s sale, held on May 20 at Carlton Colville Community Centre for the third time, was once again a resounding success as £3897 was raised.
“Once again the cake sale was amazing,” said Mr Gray. “We’re always blown away by people’s generosity and the event continues to grow year on year.
“It has become a real family event, which is really important for us as we had so much support from family members across the five years that Ollie was ill.”
