There is a unique opportunity to see behind the scenes of a busy fire station this weekend as a special open day is held.

Emergency services will come together at the Lowestoft South fire station open day on Sunday, September 8.

There will be a "whole range" of games and activities to enjoy as well as the chance to see the fire station on Stradbroke Road, as the event runs from 10am to 4pm.

Fire engines old and new will be on display with police, ambulance and coastguards also in attendance.

There will be a raffle, refreshments, cakes, games, stalls, activities and much more - with children having the opportunity to try out activities with the emergency service cadets.

The event is free to enter with the chance to also meet Welephant, Blaze Bear and Brian the station horse. All funds raised will go to The Fire Fighters Charity.

Visitors please note no parking is available on the site.
