Painting in the style of Van Gogh, Ben Nicholson, or John Sell Cotman, was the project for last Wednesday's meeting. Sunflowers were brought along to emulate Van Gogh, watercolour landscapes for Cotman, and abstracts for Nicholson. Everyone agreed they had learnt a great deal by copying famous artists and some good work resulted in the exercise. The next meeting will be held on September 9 at the Community Centre. The trip to Great Yarmouth potteries had to be cancelled due to illness and members are asked to bring their ongoing work. There will be help at hand in drawing or painting for those who need it.
