Chairman Jean Pattinson welcomed everybody and there were a few apologies. Arts and crafts have been busy making things for charity fair social studies which resume after summer breaks. Strollers had morning coffee to raise money for the fair. The Lunch Club is continuing to be popular with the next lunch on September 9 at the Harvester. The speaker was Malcolm Crowe on Capricorn Crafts. String puppets were the beginning of his passion for making toys and games and it became a way of life for over 20 years. On September 29 there will be a coffee morning at Dreena's from 10.30am to noon. The next meeting is on October 1 with a talk about The History of Lowestoft Lace by Nicky Townsend. There will also be a charity fair on September 26 from 10am to 1pm at the United Reform Church, London Road North.
