Thirty-five members attended this month's meeting of Oulton Village Ladies Friendship Club. The speaker was Capt Paul McDonagh from the Church Army who gave a talk on his journey through life. Being put up for adoption at the tender age of two he was welcomed into a caring family for a few years then being left an orphan. A variety of occupations followed including a short time in the police force. He finally found his niche in the church and settled down to a happy family life only to have it snatched away by the death of his wife. Eventually he found his calling with the St Margaret's diocese and happily settled together with his children and busily involved in the college and local schools. Gloria Wilson-Sutter gave the vote of thanks. Birthday poses were presented. Next meeting July 9 when it will be a sausage and mash lunch.
