The chairman Pat Lincoln welcomed members and introduced this month's speaker who had stepped in at the last minute. Serena gave a very informative talk on the plight of children in Uganda.

The chairman Pat Lincoln welcomed members and introduced this month's speaker who had stepped in at the last minute. Serena gave a very informative talk on the plight of children in Uganda. She belongs to a group raising money to fund schools and had the opportunity to visit Uganda to see how the money was used. From small beginnings a school has emerged educating as many as 800 pupils. Some boarders, others walking as much as seven miles to receive an education each day. Ages range from three to seven years and as many as 90 in a class. Serena was thanked by Gloria Wilson-Sutter. Birthday posies were given out. The sales table was cakes and books. Tea and raffle followed. Next meeting is on October 8 when there is to be a ploughman's lunch. Sales table to be anything green.
