The April meeting was held at Oulton Community Centre. Twenty-one members and seven guests attended. The meeting was opened by the chairwomen Irene Marklewicz. The scheduled speaker was unable to attend so Irene introduced a friend, Karelyn Smithson who agreed to give a talk on her hobby of scrapbooking. Karelyn brought along a large selection of her work which she passed around for members to have a look at. She told members that scrapbooking is a means of recording in an album memories and photographs of events in family life and their history. The first album she showed members was memories of a family holiday in Madiera. Karelyn then demonstrated how to form a picture using a photograph of her two children and decorating around it. Refreshments and a raffle completed the evening.

The next meeting will be on Wednesday, May 6, 7.30pm, when member Shirley Connolly will give a demonstration of making up hanging baskets.
