Firefighters were pressed into action when a bonfire spiralled out of control.
Three crews - two from Lowestoft and one from Beccles - were called at 12.59pm this afternoon (May 15) following reports of a fire in the open on Beccles Road in Carlton Colville.
Officers from Suffolk Constabulary were also alerted but were not required to attend the scene.
A spokesman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said firefighters subsequently discovered that a bonfire was "out of control" and had spread to nearby shrubland.
By 1.40pm the crews had used two hose reel jets to tackle and surround the fire, before remaining on scene for an additional 20 minutes to ensure the scene was safe.
