FIREFIGHTERS spent over 40 minutes tackling a large bonfire, which was 'out of control' in Oulton Broad.
A crew from Lowestoft South fire station and another from North Lowestoft were called out to Bridge Road at 10.18pm last night (Sunday).
A spokesman for the Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said on arrival at the scene there was one large pile of timber measuring 25m x 30m, which was 'well alight.' Four firefighters used chromes to rake out the timber, with the blaze eventually put out by 11pm.
