Work to resurface and improve the carriageway on the A12 in both directions between St Peters Street and Station Square in Lowestoft will start on Monday night.

It will see the main A12 routes between St Peters Street and Station Square closed in both directions for 19 nights – overnight between 8pm and 6am – and diversions put in place.

The Highways Agency said that 'road users will benefit from smoother, safer journeys' thanks to this resurfacing scheme in Lowestoft at the Hamilton and Waveney dock junction.

During the overnight closures, clearly signed diversion routes will be in place – with southbound traffic being diverted via St Peters Street, Katwijk Way and Denmark Road. Northbound traffic will use Denmark Road, Katwijk Way and St Peters Street.

See this Friday's Journal for more details about the resurfacing works.
