Man charged following betting shop robbery

Police have charged a man in connection with a robbery at a betting shop.

The robbery took place in Pakefield at about 7.15pm on Friday, May 18, when two males entered the Ladbrokes shop on London Road and a quantity of cash was taken from the till.

Both males then left the shop and walked up London Road South with the cash.

Sonny Booty, of Rutland Drive in Hornchurch, was arrested on June 29 and taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre for questioning. The 31-year-old was subsequently charged the following day with robbery.

He appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Monday, July 2, where he was remanded to appear at Ipswich Crown Court on Monday, July 30.
