Several firefighters were pressed in action after a pan fire filled a residential property with smoke.

Fire crews were alerted at around 12pm this afternoon to a pan fire at a mid-terraced house on Daffodil Walk, off Hollow Grove Way, in Carlton Colville.

Appliances from Loddon, Great Yarmouth, Wrentham and Beccles were mobilised due to the fact crews based in Lowestoft had already received a separate call-out.

Upon arrival, firefighters found that the occupants had already evacuated the property and no ambulances were required.

A spokesman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was "not substantial", but there was "a lot of smoke" inside the building.

Fire personnel from Beccles assessed the smoke damage in the house and the scene was considered safe by 12.37pm.
