Members of a patient participation group (PPG) have presented a dermascope for use at Rosedale Surgery in Carlton Colville.

The Rosedale PPG committee presented the equipment to Lisa Andrews, surgery manager, at their monthly meeting.

The small piece of equipment has a pigment boost which can play a vital role in detecting cancers of the skin.

The PPG has been raising money over a number of years to support the work of the doctors. Funds have been raised through the kind support of Dr and Mrs Sutharsan at Nisa, Pakefield, who with the Rosedale surgery have been selling plants. An anonymous donation helped exceed the £1,200 target needed.

The group is also organising a number of free courses on how to apply cardiac massage and use a defibrillator. For dates and times call Paul on 01502 514775. Meet the committee monthly coffee mornings are also being planned for the surgery.
