A PENSIONER is recovering in hospital, a week after suffering serious head and abdominal injuries in a collision with a coach which caused traffic chaos in Oulton Broad.
Police investigations were continuing this week after the 73-year-old cyclist was injured in the collision in Beccles Road, at about 4.30pm last Friday.
Witnesses are being sought for the collision, which caused the road to be closed for nearly three hours as the air ambulance was called and the scene was cleared.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said the man was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, by the Anglia One air ambulance.
'We are continuing to investigate what caused the man to come off his pedal cycle and a coach driver has been spoken to in connection with the incident,' a police spokesman said yesterday. 'At the time, initial fears were that the man had suffered life-threatening injuries, but it does not appear to be as bad as first feared and the 73-year-old is making good progress in hospital.'
