A WOMAN in her 80s has been targeted by callous thieves who stole a 'quantity of cash' in an Oulton Broad distraction burglary.
Police are seeking witnesses following the distraction burglary at a home in Hall Road about 7.20pm to 7.30pm last night (Thursday, December 16).
'Officers were contacted around 7.30pm to reports that two men had gained entry to the home of a woman in her 80s,' a police spokesman said. 'It appears they may have entered via an unlocked door and then one of them engaged the lady in conversation while the other searched the property. It's thought a quantity of cash was stolen.'
Detectives are asking anyone who may have been in Hall Road around this time yesterday to contact DC 1173 Barnes on 01986 835300 if you saw two men – described as white, smartly dressed and possibly in their 20s – or if you have any information about who they are.
