A QUICK-WITTED thief stole several hundred pounds worth of perfume and cosmetics before fleeing from the fire exit of a Lowestoft supermarket.

The theft happened at the Tesco store at Leisure Way in Gunton between 8.30pm and 9pm on Monday, October 25.

“It’s thought the offender left via a fire exit,” a police spokesman said. “Police are making enquiries into the incident and are asking anyone who may have been in or near the store around this time to telephone PC 1493 Brearley at Lowestoft police station on 01986 835300 if they saw anything suspicious.”
