This week two members displayed photographs taken over many years. Tony Hart started the evening with photographs taken mainly in Holland and the UK. His prints are rarely taken digitally and, although he may crop a photograph, he never manipulates in other ways preferring to see them as a true likeness.

This week two members displayed photographs taken over many years. Tony Hart started the evening with photographs taken mainly in Holland and the UK. His prints are rarely taken digitally and, although he may crop a photograph, he never manipulates in other ways preferring to see them as a true likeness. His work mainly covers street photography, capturing people being natural rather than in structured poses. This was followed by Derek Jackson who mixed digital photography with standard film. His photographs were mainly black and white or had a sepia colour to them. As he liked to take charge of the whole process his method was to scan the colour pictures, de-saturate them and then tone them. He would use photoshop to enhance certain areas and then print on to archival or matt paper. All of his pictures had a dramatic and appealing quality. After the break he showed a digital CD of his work which included holiday snaps of landscapes. Both members covered ways of taking excellent pictures much appreciated by the audience. The next meeting is at Trinity Church Hall, Park Road, on at 7.30pm when the manipulated image competition will be held.
