Eight teams of six players battled it out for the honours in a fiercely fought competition held at Richardson's Family Bowl Centre in Lowestoft.

Aiming to knock over all ten pins with a single ball and scoring a strike, each team bowled in two games in a bid to claim top place in the contest, with their combined score counting towards the final result.

Making the presentations at the end of the contest, ADC (Scouts) Mark Hansen praised all players and leaders for supporting the competition and said that he was impressed with the bowling skills on show and by the record high scores achieved.

The overall winning team was from 4th Lowestoft – who scored 1,124 points, the highest score in recent times – with 1st Oulton Broad in second place with 863 points and 1st Carlton Colville in third place with 678 points.

Lewis Tillett, of the 4th Lowestoft group, achieved the highest individual score and won the bowling pin trophy.
