Police are appealing for information after a 12-year-old girl reported being approached by a man in an alleyway between Sussex Road and Royal Avenue in Lowestoft.

The incident happened around 8.40am yesterday, Wednesday 9 March.

The girl was walking along the alleyway when a man shouted at her.

She ran but the man followed her and tried to grab her before the girl got away and returned home.

Police need to trace the man – described as white, in his early to mid 20s, around 6ft tall, of skinny build, with cropped blonde hair, wearing a grey hooded top with the hood up and dark jeans – and are keen to speak to anyone who may have been in this area around this time.

Anyone with information is asked to call PC Christopher Thompson at Lowestoft by dialling Suffolk Police on 101, quoting crime number 21640/16.
