Police in Lowestoft are appealing for information after a fail to stop collision when a cyclist was knocked off his bike by a car near John Street.

The incident happened on Friday at 1pm when an 18-year-old man was he knocked off his bike by what is thought to be an old style red BMW.

It is thought the BMW had a black and red chequered pattern on the back where the boot lifts up and it had a dent in the bonnet following the incident, and that there were three passengers in the vehicle.

The driver of the BMW failed to stop.

The victim was taken to the James Paget University Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries to his hand and knees.
