Police appeal after lit can of lighter fluid is posted through a letterbox in Lowestoft

A lit can of lighter fluid was put through the letterbox of a house in Lowestoft last night, (Sunday) causing a small fire to break out.

Police officers were contacted by the fire service at 11.10pm to reports of a small fire on Raglan Street.

A police spokesman said: “Entry was gained to the premises and the small fire behind the door was extinguished. Minor damage had been caused and fortunately no one was hurt.”

Police would like to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious or who has information about who put the item through the letterbox.
