Elderly man assaulted by two attackers while waiting for a bus

Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault on an elderly man while he was waiting for a bus in Lowestoft.

The 80-year-old man had been waiting for the 102 bus on Somerleyton Road when a man and woman began shouting and swearing at him.

He was then pushed by the two attackers, but escaped unhurt from the incident but was left badly shaken.

Police described the man as aged in his 50s with grey hair and of medium build, and described the woman as in her 50s with dark hair and about 5ft 4in tall.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any knowledge of it is being asked to contact Lowestoft police on 101, quoting crime reference number 37/14459/18, or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
