Police officer hurt trying to stop motorcyclists

A policeman has been hurt after trying to stop three motorcyclists in Aldeburgh on Monday afternoon.

The incident took place at around 4pm, in High Street, when the on-duty officer attempted to stop three motorcyclists.

A statement from Suffolk police said: “Two of the riders failed to stop and an extensive search took place to find the suspects. Two people were subsequently arrested.”

The police officer was taken to the James Paget Hospital, in Gorleston, where his injuries were initially described as serious.

However, it was later reported that he suffered severe bruising to his leg and has now been discharged from hospital.

Police would like to thank members of the public who came to the police officer’s assistance.
