A NEW frontline policing team has taken over the reins for Lowestoft and Waveney.Detective chief inspector Andy Quantrell has been promoted to the new role while also being appointed as crime manager for Waveney and Suffolk Coastal.
A NEW frontline policing team has taken over the reins for Lowestoft and Waveney.
Detective chief inspector Andy Quantrell has been promoted to the new role while also being appointed as crime manager for Waveney and Suffolk Coastal. He previously worked as detective inspector overseeing the Waveney district support team and prior to coming to Suffolk worked for Norfolk Constabulary.
“I'm looking forward to the challenges of my new role and with working with the small but dedicated team of detective inspectors who cover Waveney and Suffolk Coastal,” DCI Quantrell said. “One of the key areas for us at the moment is improving the service we provide to victims of crime and witnesses and we are also focussing on tackling issues such as domestic abuse.
“Officers across Waveney and Suffolk Coastal have achieved some excellent results over the past few years and we will be looking to build on this good performance.”
With the recent promotion of Waveney detective inspector Steve Mattin to chief inspector at police headquarters in Martlesham, this has resulted in Darrell Skuse being promoted from detective sergeant to become the new DI for Lowestoft and Waveney.
He will team up with DI Kerry Pauling who moves from her role as DI at the victim care centre. Before that she was also a DI with the Metropolitan Police, where she ran a sexual offences unit.
She replaces DI Angus Moir, who oversaw the Waveney district support team and the offender management unit at Lowestoft, who now moves to a new role at police headquarters.

“We had a 35pc detection rate at the end of May and a 9.1pc decrease in crime in the past year as there were 850 less victims in the Waveney district,” he said. “I've thoroughly enjoyed my time here and I wish Darrell and Kerry all the best.”
Now the aim for DI Skuse and DI Pauling is to build on this success.
