Police warning after vans broken into in Lowestoft

PUBLISHED: 10:25 29 November 2010

POLICE investigations were continuing this week after thieves targeted motor vehicles in Lowestoft.

A large yellow coloured transformer, a blue power saw and three jig saws in plastic cases were stolen after a van parked at Chaukers Crescent was broken into.

The theft happened between 5pm last Thursday (November 25) and 7.45am on Friday (November 26).

“The transformer was heavy and would have needed more than one person to move it,” a police spokesman said. “Were you in the area overnight? Did you see the incident or do you have any information about who took the items or where they are now?

“If you can help please call PC 1633 Thompson on 01986 835300.”

Police are also investigating after a wood and metal tool box was stolen from a van parked in Chiltern Crescent between 6pm last Thursday, and 8am on Friday.

• Anyone with information should contact Sgt 264 Green on 01986 835300.
