I never wanted the death penalty abolished and since it was, in 1965, I have believed that murder and crimes of extreme violence have increased. Ms Moore quotes Sara Payne as saying: "a lot of people think it should be introduced for child killers. But I favour locking them up forever and ensuring they have a horrible time."

Is this a more sophisticated and educated attitude than putting them to death?

We do not have to hang them as there are other civilised alternative.

Many murderers have wanted to commit suicide but most have been prevented.
