Homes and businesses are being affected by a power cut near the Waveney coast this morning, with power not expected to return until midday.

The unplanned power cut has left properties in between Worlingham and South Cove without electricity this morning (Monday, January 6).

It is affecting customers in the NR34 7 and HP4 1 post codes, with UK Power Networks having received more than four calls before 9am.

UK Power Networks said in a statement on their website: "A fault occurred on a piece of our electrical equipment which controls the power to your home.

"We're sorry for any disruption this may be causing you. We estimate the power will be back on between 11:00 - 12:00."

Engineers were sent to deal with the faulty at 8.46am, after it was first reported at 4.35.

Engineers are now on site, carrying out investigations into the fault.

UK Power Networks said: "Once they have completed their assessment, they will carry out repairs.
