This, of course, is a small part of the major refurbishment of the park. The tennis courts have already received new fencing and nets, and the boating lake has been given a new look with the eco islands replacing the old concrete structure. A more open aspect has also been created by the removal and thinning of trees as necessary. This will help soil improvement and allow for under planting in due course.

Unfortunately, the work has not progressed more quickly due to anticipated grants not being received, and it is accepted that major renovations to buildings, paths and boundary fencing are still needed.

Regular users of the park should scrutinise the new community board at the entrance to the park for details of ongoing work and future plans. Constructive comments and suggestions are always welcomed by nursery staff who work hard all year round to keep Lowestoft parks places to enjoy by residents and visitors alike.
