Children from a local primary school had their artistic efforts rewarded as a local book store unveiled its Christmas window display.

Having been invited to submit ideas for a display at Lowestoft Waterstones, year six pupils from Northfield St. Nicholas Primary Academy put their brains into gear to come up with designs based on the theme of 'The Frozen Wastes'.

The children produced an assortment of presents and penguins, as well as a Christmas tree and an impressive mountain range backdrop.

On Friday, December 1, the pupils and their parents visited the store to view the final product, before the school choir got everyone into the festive spirit by singing Christmas carols.

Jo Perry from Waterstones Lowestoft said: 'When we went to see the kids at the school, they were excited about the project straight away.

'We discussed how we'd make the display, but they were so enthusiastic that we could leave it up to them!'
