Projects chosen by residents as the top five priorities for Southwold will be discussed at a meeting of the council later this month.

In August last year Southwold Town Council provided every resident with a questionnaire which detailed 23 projects that the council was working on and asked residents to choose the five projects that they considered should be the highest priorities.

Out of the 795 questionnaires that were delivered, the council received 359 replies - a return rate of 45pc.

The top priorities were maintaining and improving the public toilets, retaining a dedicated police presence within the town, ensuring parking restrictions are enforceable and enforced, keeping up the appearance of the greens, hedges, and open spaces and working with the relevant partners to provide appropriate improvements to parking.

Those priorities have been incorporated within the council budget for 2018/19 and the council will be holding a presentation of its budget on Wednesday, January 31, at 6.30pm at the Stella Peskett Millennium Hall.

More information will also be provided about some of the projects that the council is involved in and residents are invited along.
