A 27-YEAR-OLD Lowestoft man has been jailed for 10 weeks after he admitted stealing �200 worth of meat - and asked for four other thefts or attempted thefts from shops to be taken into consideration.

Michael Peasey, a prolific shoplifter from Stanley Street in Lowestoft, appeared at the town's Magistrates Court yesterday (Tuesday, July 17) charged with taking packets of steak worth �200 from a London Road North retailer on Saturday afternoon, July 14.

He also admitted attempting to steal groceries from the same store on two other occasions, one on Wednesday (July 11) and the other on Monday, July 16 and taking foodstuffs from another shop in London Road South on two occasions, one on Wednesday, April 18, the other on Monday, May 28.

He was sentenced to ten weeks in prison.
