I NOTICED for at least two years, before the restriction was lifted for cycling along the prom, that people were cycling on a regular basis and even writing to The Journal to say that they would continue to do so because the roads were too dangerous to use.

The council took the signs prohibiting cycling down for reasons of resurfacing.
Despite a new road system it is apparently still too dangerous for cyclists on the roads, even as early as 6am as most paths round Lowestoft are used by cyclists.
As pedestrians are most environmentally friendly out of cars, bikes, etc, a question for Waveney District Council is: where can pedestrians walk safely?
