As there are crossings of Bloodmoor Road the proposed site might be good for encouraging walking and cycling.

I think putting the school on the South Lowestoft Industrial Estate, as Mr Clarke suggests, would be particularly dangerous.

If residents are genuinely concerned about child safety their tactic of pressing crossing buttons to delay drivers was misguided and naive.

Crossings are what help make school runs safer for walking and cycling and thus less cars. Do residents believe that those drivers who tooted support did so out of safety concerns? Their only concern is a dislike of having to stop.

It doesn't necessarily follow that the drivers who made rude gestures are the ones who would cause accidents. On the contrary, it is arguably those who indicated support who would most likely cause accidents.

Suffolk County Council's proposal of a link road to the school could be good if it enabled school run cars to be discouraged from using the other roads so walking and cycling can be encouraged. Kilbourn Road is close to an official quiet cycling route.

I live opposite a school entrance so I understand resident's concerns about traffic. In Dell Road the keep clear areas have been extended and we now have bollards on our verges. It has made a big difference. The keep clear area outside my home does not cause me problems.
