BALACLAVA-clad thieves burst into a Lowestoft pub and threatened staff before fleeing with cash.

Robbers raided the First and Last public house in Dove Street last night (Sunday, September 21) and forced two staff members to open the safe.

Police are seeking information after the burglars entered the pub around 11.30pm. Two men wearing balaclavas then threatened two members of staff who were inside and forced them to open the safe.

The staff members were then locked in a room, while the thieves made off with what officers described as “an amount of cash.” The staff were not injured in the theft, but they were left shaken by the incident.

Anyone with information about the burglary should telephone Lowestoft CID on 01986 835300 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
