ECO friendly pupils at Foxborough Middle in Lowestoft have joined a new programme designed to reduce energy consumptions at home and in school.
Energy Busters is organised by the National Trust in association with the Broads Authority, Norfolk County Council's environmental education service and Suffolk County Council.
And children are encouraged to implement strategies to help reduce their fossil fuel intake.
Jerrie Lines, eco schools co-ordinator at Foxborough said: 'The children get a real sense of ownership from it and have really enjoyed the two sessions we have had with our energy outreach learning officer from the National Trust.
'The sessions are mostly after school on a Friday, which is our normal eco-schools time anyway. The children carried out a formal survey of the school in the last session to find out what areas we can improve on and what we are already doing well.'
The children's findings will be presented in assemblies to the whole school to try and involve them in the venture, as well as their Switch Off, Keep Cool week, where the team will try and reduce energy consumption by implementing the strategies they came up with during their lessons.
