Rector Jeremy Bishop has bid farewell to worshippers at St Peter's and St Andrew's after holding his final services on Easter Sunday to celebrate Holy Communion.

Along with wife Anne, the pair will be retiring to the north Norfolk coast after 21 years of service as rector of both churches.

Lloyd Armes, of Lowestoft Christians Together, said: “We now look to the future. As Christians we know an end is also a beginning.

“There was a Beatles song which said 'You say goodbye, but I say hello.' We are at a crossroad.

“What is past is gone but the future lies before us under Almighty God. With his direction we will reach Carlton Colville.

“We look forward to welcoming a new incumbent in the near future.”
