Rescue services called to kite surfer

THE Lowestoft Coastguard Rescue Team and the Lowestoft Lifeboat was called out this afternoon to help a kite surfer who had got into difficulty in the water just off Claremont Pier.

THE Lowestoft Coastguard Rescue Team and the Lowestoft Lifeboat was called out this afternoon to help a kite surfer who had got into difficulty in the water just off Claremont Pier.

They were called to the scene at 3.45pm after the Yarmouth Coastguard control room received a call from Waveney District Council's beach office on the South Beach saying they could seen a kite surfer in the sea, possibly in trouble, 100 yards south of the pier.

The coastguard rescue team and the lifeboat was then tasked by Yarmouth Coastguards to investigate.

But when they arrived at the scene the man had made his was safely to the shore.

All units stood down and returned to stations.
