Posies as usual were handed out to the birthday girls, their cake was enjoyed later at tea time. The outing to Waldringfield and sail to Felixstowe Ferry with tea was most successful. The speaker for the afternoon was Mr C Miller who gave a talk on the history of the Suffolk Punch Horse. The Punches have had a chequered time in their history. In Victorian Times and onward there were always several horses on the farms in and around Suffolk. After mechanisation their numbers dropped rapidly and they almost became an endangered breed.
