The speaker this month was Mrs Preston on a return visit. Her subject this time was stars, celebrities and special occasions. She told members a variety of amusing and informative stories about her time as housekeeper at the Grosvenor Hotel in London. She also spoke about the trials and tribulations experienced by the hotel when it was used as a film set. Also the special preparations needed when a member of the Royal Family visited the hotel, also the many stars that stayed there. Many different functions, from balls to antique shows are held in the great room at the hotel which can seat 2,000 people at a time.
