THIEVES wearing masks burst into a Lowestoft off-licence and stole cash.

Police are seeking witnesses after the robbers raided Pennys off-licence in Norwich Road on Saturday evening, December 6.

Two people wearing masks - believed to be men - entered the store around 7.35pm, approached the man behind the counter and demanded he hand over cash. One of the robbers appeared to be carrying a hammer.

As the till was opened, one of the two grabbed notes from it and the other man took a box for staff tips from the counter before both fled.

No one was hurt in the incident. One of the thieves is of large build, in his late teens to early 20s, wearing an orange/red hooded top and dark bottoms that seemed short. The other appeared younger and wore a dark sports jacket with a white motif on a front pocket, grey sports bottoms and white trainers.

Both wore towelling-style cloth masks over their faces, with holes cut in them.

Anyone who saw someone meeting this description in the area around this time or anyone with information about who they are should call Lowestoft CID on 01986 835300.
