We have received an invitation from Lt Col I A Vere Nicoll MBE, our general secretary for members to join the Royal Artillery representation at Wooton Basset for the repatriation of Gunners killed on operations, with details of directions and protocol. The secretary also read a letter from Maj Gen J Milne CB introducing himself as the new chairman of the Royal Artillery Association. The British Cyprus Memorial Trust have informed the branch of their intention to erect a memorial to the 371 British Servicemen who died on active service during the Cyprus Emergency 1955-1959, 33 of which were members of the Royal Artillery. The branch agreed on a donation of �100 towards the estimated cost of �200,000. Members were informed of the MOD Discount Scheme which gives veterans the benefits on many items.
