MOTORISTS in Lowestoft faced long queues yesterday (Thursday) the morning rush hour as the bascule bridge was raised to let a large ship enter the harbour.
The slow-moving vessel had to be manoeuvred through the bridge shortly after 8am and the bridge was closed to traffic for about 15 minutes.
As a result long queues of traffic built up on either side of bridge with motorists heading north joining the queue along the Lowestoft relief road.
